Sofia Bennett: Development Assistant Producer

Prior to joining Rise in 2023, Sofia worked for The Economist’s BAFTA-winning film team creating short journalistic documentaries. She also worked on the docu-series The Vow (HBO) among other documentary and scripted productions. Sofia has worked with award-winning directors including John Dower, Jehane Noujaim, Geoffrey O’Connor, Ian Forsyth and Jane Pollard. She previously worked in academia at Columbia University for Nobel-prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz and journalist Anya Schiffrin. She is fluent in multiple languages and has an international background. 

Most recently at Rise, Sofia was the Assistant Producer on the feature documentary The Balloonists. She is currently focusing on developing new documentary projects.
